Account regions and compatibility
A gift card works only with platform accounts registered in the card’s region. What matters is your account’s region, not the country you live in.
What an account region is
Each PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and Steam account belongs to a country or region, chosen when the account was created. A gift card adds credit to that region’s store, so a card for Germany works only with an account registered in Germany.
Check your account’s region
Open your account settings on the console or on the platform’s website. The country or region is listed with your account details. On Steam, the store country shows on the Account details page.
Accounts in Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia
Some platforms don’t offer every country in our region as an account region, so many accounts here are registered in another country, for example Germany. Buy the card for your account’s region, not for the country you live in.
Global and EU cards
A card marked Global works with accounts in any region. A card for the EU works with accounts registered in an EU country. Each product page names the accounts the card works with, and you confirm your account’s region before you pay.
